Picking My Wedding Dress

When deciding on my wedding dress, I had a very specific dress in mind. It was very simple, classic and included a big bow. I did not envision any lace or glitz. When we set the date for my first dress search, I knew I wanted to start with Caryn's Bridal in Farmville, VA, because while attending Longwood University, I had always loved driving by their store on Main Street and seeing the beautiful dresses in their windows. I knew that once it was my time to search for the perfect dress, I wanted to start there!

We arrived and they pulled a few dresses that fit my description. After trying on the second one, the lady helping me asked if I would try on one specific dress. She knew my wedding would be in Charleston, SC and she described this specific dress as being perfect for my venue and location. The only thing, it was all lace and included glitzy buttons all the way down the back. With an open mind, I decided to try it on and as soon as I stepped out of the fitting room, my Mom, Grandma and Mother-In-Law all said it was THE ONE! With a few modifications, it was the most perfect dress for me! They were able to switch out the buttons to a classic satin covered button and add a thick sash with a big bow.

Looking back, I'm so happy I had an open mind walking into that appointment, because I was able to find the perfect dress for my big day!

Plus, it was perfect for spinning!

XOXO,
Emily
